I spent about two days travelling through Arizona (between San Diego and Albuquerque and back again) in July 2006.  Most of these sketches are done from the front passenger seat of a car or in places that we stopped at to eat or sleep.  On the way out we travelled via Yuma, Tucson and Tombstone.  On the return trip we drove west to just short of Flagstaff and then south to Prescot and Yuma - travelling through the Sonoran Desert and then back to San Diego along I-8.  All the sketches on the last day of driving - from Flagstaff onwards - were done in temperatures of around 100 or more with the peak being 119 degrees Fahrenheit.
