France is a favourite place to draw and paint. Especially since there are opportunities to take a 'kitchen sink' approach to art materials if I take the car across the channel! I got back to drawing and painting - after a very, very long break - in Provence in 1989 and have never looked back. Many thanks to Jeremy Le Grice, my first tutor, for the advice to enroll for life drawing classes when I got home. I then studied at Central St Martins in the evening for several years and my skill at drawing all manner of subjects improved enormously as a result.
What happend during my trip to Paris, Normandy and the Loire is summarised in my blog posts - see Travels with a sketchbook in France.
